Buying a new car VS Buying a used car

There are various reasons why you may want to buy a new car or used car. The main advantage for buying a used car is that used cars are usually cheaper than new cars. The disadvantages of buying a used car is that usually do not come with free warranty and if buying privately there is an increased risk of being scammed and buying a fault or stolen vehicle. Buying a new car gives you the choice of choosing the exact specification you want. New cars also come with several years of manufacturer - backed warranties and will protect you if something when wrong with the car. However one disadvantage of buying a new car is that depreciation is usually greater and the car can lose up to 30 - 40 percent of value in the first year of use.
